200 Status Code: An HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) status code indicating a successful response from the server to your request. This code signifies that the request was received, understood, and accepted, meaning your location (URL) is displaying properly.

301 Redirect: An HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) status code indicating that the resource requested has been permanently moved. A 301 Redirect tells search engines that the page has permanently shifted from one location (URL) to another.

404 Error: An HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) status code indicating that the server could not find the requested resource. This means your URL is not displaying properly, creating a poor user experience.

Accessibility: This term refers to websites and apps designed and coded to be navigable and usable by all people, including those with disabilities, as well as search engines.

Algorithm: A set of rules that search engines use to rank web pages.

Alt Tag (IMG Alt Text): A phrase or word inserted in HTML to describe an image for search engines and users.

Anchor Text: The clickable text in a hyperlink, highlighting the text that anchors the link to the page.

Crawler: A program that search engines use to scan and index web pages.

CTR (Click-Through Rate): The rate at which users click a URL from your website compared to how many times it is seen. [**TIP: CTR Formula:** clicks ÷ impressions = CTR]

CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) : Strategies to increase the percentage of visitors completing a desired action, making the most of traffic to convert users into customers or leads.

Cumulative Layout Shifts (CLS):  A core web vital measuring visual stability.

Direct Competitor: A business offering similar products or services compared to your own, distinguished from search competitors.

Dofollow Link: A link descriptor indicating search engines can crawl it. All links are dofollow by default unless manually set to nofollow. #### Domain Name The address where users can access your content online, e.g., “seerinteractive.com”.

Duplicate Content: Content appearing on multiple URLs, which can lead to SEO issues.

External Link: A link from your website to another site.

HTTP   (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol):the foundational protocol for formatting messages on the web.

HTTPS: Is a  secure version of HTTP, encrypting data exchanged between clients and servers to protect against unauthorized access.

Hyperlink: A clickable element that redirects to another location when clicked.

Inbound Link: A link from another website directed at your own.

Indexing: The process by which search engines catalog web pages in their database.

Information Intent: A type of search intent where users seek general information.

Intent: also known as Search Intent or  User Intent/Audience Intent: This term refers to the purpose behind a person’s search, essential for effective SEO.

MSV : (Monthly Search Volume) Average monthly usage of a specific search term.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) :Technology enabling computers to understand, interpret, and respond to human language.

Natural Links Organic : Links from other websites to your content, contributing positively to SEO.

Navigational Intent: Users seeking information from a specific source, website, or location. 

Nofollow: A link descriptor indicating search engines should not crawl it or associate it with your site.

Off-page SEO: Actions taken beyond your website that influence its rankings, primarily involving link building.

On-page SEO: Optimisations that are made directly on your website, such as meta tags and content quality. 

Organic Traffic: Visitors arriving at your site via search engine results without paid advertising.

Technical SEO (TSEO): Optimising technical aspects, like speed and crawlability, to enhance website performance and rankings.

Title Tag: An HTML element specifying a webpage title, shown in SERPs.

Toxic Backlink: A Toxic or disavow Backlink is a malicious or spammy Backlink from a rogue website pointing to your sites, which may attempt to steal data, distribute malware, or use deceptive tactics to drive traffic. You could even become a target of a spam attack from a competitor this is refered to as a toxic backlink Aimed at your site at an effort to demote it in search results.

Transactional Intent: Term that refers to users searching with the intention to make a purchase or find specific product details.

URL: A Uniform Resource Locator, the address for a web resource. 

Universal Analytics (Google Analytics): An older Google Analytics version, tracking and analysing web traffic before GA4.

UI (User Interface): The space where users interact with a business through apps or websites.

UX (User Experience): The overall experience users have when engaging with a website or app.
